The Teenaged Betsy McCall HERSELF was available as BOTH a blonde and an auburn-haired gal. I still prefer the more traditional, reddish-haired doll, but I love the blonde's pretty dress!
Peppermint Snowdrifthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08892704947166771667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2862785981784811341.post-40112802126003737752015-01-10T07:19:34.798+00:002015-01-10T07:19:34.798+00:00Oh wow, I checked her out and she's gorgeous! ...Oh wow, I checked her out and she's gorgeous! I now want BOTH of these dolls!

The Teenage Betsy McCall doll has side-parted auburn hair, incorrect BLUE eyes (Betsy's eyes were always brown....Oh, well!), and the 1971 Horsman Styling Head face. She wore a red top, a blue jumpsuit, a red scarf, and red platforms. Her blue box was labeled "Betsy McCall....She WALKS with you!"

Barbara McCall (I've never seen her NRFB, so she may have been incorrectly labeled as "Betsy") wore a dress that featured a white blouse, and a black skirt, and she was a blue-eyed blonde.

BOTH dolls' outfits were outwardly labeled "BM"!

Search online for photos of "teenage Horsman Betsy McCall doll", and you'll see what I'm talking about....AND you'll see that lovely, slightly aloof Styling Head face....surrounded by AUBURN hair!Peppermint Snowdrifthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08892704947166771667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2862785981784811341.post-29156511711478251142013-12-12T17:37:38.468+00:002013-12-12T17:37:38.468+00:00Thank you for your comment anonymous - I'm ful...Thank you for your comment anonymous - I'm fully aware of the terminology in reference to sculpture, however, this is a child's toy which is referred to as a "Styling Head". In my post I commented that the item has a "swivel head", you could even refer to this as a swivel neck, it is not however a "swivel bust" as this type of toy generally has "suckers" which secure the base to a table top for ease of use, therefore when in play the shoulders are stationary as it is the head that moves due to the "swivel neck".Herbie Hopkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291794445963147762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2862785981784811341.post-61693162756670407252013-12-12T13:15:03.761+00:002013-12-12T13:15:03.761+00:00Any head on top of a set of shoulders- is referred...Any head on top of a set of shoulders- is referred to as 'a bust' ;-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2862785981784811341.post-74902298327262546992012-12-29T09:39:33.090+00:002012-12-29T09:39:33.090+00:00Thank you for your comment April, and for visiting...Thank you for your comment April, and for visiting my blog!
