My advice is to clean and dry the area thoroughly and then use the 10% Peroxide on the area, leave it on for a few days to a week and then check on it.
Herbs xHerbie Hopkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291794445963147762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2862785981784811341.post-6938582900197786782023-10-15T22:44:56.968+01:002023-10-15T22:44:56.968+01:00HI Herbie,

I put the doll in window sun light during the process. The stains are lighter, but still very much there. The last few applications show no green removal spots at all on the cloth. Should I assume it has done its best and it's time to move on to another product, like 10% Benzoyll Peroxide Acne Cream, or could it lead to a product "shock"and make matters worse? It is best to treat them as soon as you notice it to prevent spreading and further damage/ a longer repair job. I am from South Africa and have an action figure from the Golden Girls and the Guardians of the Gemstones. She has green ear that is caused by the paint used. Her original skin colour fortunately is snow white. Do you think the Clearasil will be ok to use? Just to double check, it is Clearasil double strength? It's a bit long winded to explain which is why I plan to post a how to on the subject.
Just remember it is easier to add more colour (just re-dye) but not so easy to remove it if you make the skin too dark. Also the colour will always be darker for anything up to a week post dye so it is better to wait at least 7 days before deciding if you will need to re-dye.
Herbs xHerbie Hopkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291794445963147762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2862785981784811341.post-40848647737570597642017-04-08T10:11:51.920+01:002017-04-08T10:11:51.920+01:00After using the zit cream for several months, my #...After using the zit cream for several months, my #3 dolls have lightened up significantly but my bubble & Queen don't show any signs of improvement in fact, the bubble has gotten worse. I'm going to try CLR. I will let you know if it works. I've also heard Tarnex works but you need to be very careful. In addition, I've learned that heating the head with a hairdryer softens the head enough to remove without damage. I think you need to be careful & not keep it on too long to avoid possible stretching it too much but so far, so good. Thanks again for your great info. Can you tell us which colors of dye you mixed? I have a T&it that had green on the leg from the wire inside. I used the zit cream & it bleached the spot to white (better than green) but I'd like to fix. I have never used any wrap when using this technique so I cannot say either way if your use of it has had any effect whatsoever, nor have I changed creams during treatment, so again I am unable to advise you on this. personally I wouldn't as I would be concerned as to whether they would react badly with the vinyl, but on the subject of ears...
I found the way to get the majority off these tricky areas is to use a cotton bud (Q - Tip if you're an American speaker) to coat the inside of the head in the affected area as well as using the cream on the outside at the same time. It takes a lot longer to get stains off these areas and it may not come off completely but it will be significantly reduced given enough time and patience. Also there may be some fading due to use of the cream and sunlight as an accelerate so you may find you need to dye the head after treatment, which is what I did.Herbie Hopkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291794445963147762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2862785981784811341.post-8769698417315948352017-03-26T14:44:42.888+01:002017-03-26T14:44:42.888+01:00Hi, I've been using regular cvs zit cream for ...Hi, I've been using regular cvs zit cream for months & I do see some improvement but not enough. I wrap the heads in sedan wrap & put in sun. I re-apply every day. I had a #3 that had green on her back from the zipper of the dress she was wearing. So don't store your dolls in outfits with zippers as they are also metal. The zit cream worked well on her back but I'm still struggling with the ears. So, once I've started with one cream, don't ever change it? I'd like to try the other cream but I'm afraid to cause damage.
