✤✥✦ Hujoo Albu & Nano Freya Clothing Ideas for J Louisa ✦✥✤

I promised that I'd give some information on clothes which fit Hujoo Albu and Nano Freya, it's taken a little while but I've finally got on the case, kinda...

The plan was to have a bit of a fashion show with my Albu, Kasa, my Nano rabbi ,Maitake, and Suave, Ae sook Aiko (both being used as stand ins for Nano Freya as I don't have one yet... But by the looks of them they all have a similar body size and type, as do most Hujoos, with the exception of Coojoo & Albu.

But I had battery problems and once I got them sorted I discovered I really don't have many clothes for either doll, this was made harder as I needed to find boy doll clothes for each and apart from Maitake, my little ones are girls!

I discovered that the majority of clothes I had which were a likely size for Albu - turned out not to be and so instead of a fashion show, I've decided to give guidelines of which type of clothes there are available in the right sizes, and some hints of others which may work...

That said, I guess it's time to get on with it, so I'll start with Hujoo Albu:

Hujoo Albu are much wider on the chest than Hujoo Wings, so clothes for Wings won't fit Albu, also with any clothes there is the same cuff problems you'll find with Hujoo Freya, Nano Freya, Albu or Nano Rabbi as their feet and hands are paw like and so wider than their human counterparts.

Bratz boyz t-shirts will fit Albu, but will be a close fit if you get my meaning. many of Mattel Ken's clothes will be too big, shorts work well as the waistband  can be hidden under t shirts so are not noticeable but if you like the style this can be adapted, after-all too big is better than too small in terms of tweakablity!

Clothing for 12 inch Doctor Who and Vintage Action Man are far too big and look silly, but could be adapted if you wanted.

Another type of doll clothes that will fit (please bear in mind I've only tried gathered bloomers for a female doll) are clothes sold for 1/6 yosd size |(Yo Super Dolfie) dolls.

That said I don't know how long the trousers are but looking at the doll sizes on Where Angels Lie (A Volks Super Dolfie Database) I noticed that 1/6 YOSD are 26.5 cm tall (around 10 inches tall), and as Albu is 28cm tall (approx 11 inches) they may not be long enough.

However if you plan to keep your doll in boots it shouldn't matter... It might also be a good idea to ensure that the trousers you buy for your Albu are elasticated at the waist.

1/6 YOSD
Here's a link to the YOSD outfit in the picture above: 1/6 YOSD Outfit on Ebay

Another doll whose trousers may fit properly is the Makie doll - I haven't been able to test this theory though as the only trousers I have for my Makies are leggings, leotards and shorts. Makie dolls are much chunkier on the waist and hips than a lot of other 1/6th dolls (with the exception of Lammily) and as they are also about the same height, should work on that score too. Most Makie doll clothes are made from stretchy fabrics (again, I'm only aware of items for female Makies) so they may work quite well with Albu's paws...

Here's a link to the boy's clothing section of The Makie Store, so you can check it out for yourself:  Makies Shop - Boy's Clothes

Clothes for 1/6 dolls such as Dragon Force and Sideshow can work quite well, but again it is a matter of experimenting, which could work out pretty expensive!

One doll who's clothes fit perfectly is Tonner's Little Miss Matched, the jeans and long sleeve shirts look great and the boots fit perfectly too, although most of her clothing is very girly and might be hard to come by since that particular doll has been retired from sale for several years now.

And so to shoes...

Again, I haven't really experimented, I love Kasa's feet so I've never bothered with shoes but I know that apart from Little Miss Matched's footwear, the converse type boots sold for Pullip or Blythe dolls fit well - A word of warning though, I have many pairs of these shoes in different patterns and colours, and have discovered that they are not all the same size, so it is important to remember that Albu's feet are 3. 5cm long x 1. 8cm wide.

Ebay.com
The shoes in the photo' below are sold for "12" blythe, pullip, momoko and similar dolls" and are 2cm( wide) X 3.8cm length), so will fit fine...  Here's a link to them:  Blythe Doll Converse Style Boots

Now for Nano size dolls:

Nano Hujoo dolls such as my Suave and Rabbi can fit into clothes designed for Evi Love dolls ( not so good to know if your interest is in Male doll attire!) Mini Baby Born doll clothes - which come in both male and female varieties, although these can be quite limited and always bear the "Baby Born" logo (but you could always cover this with a mini iron on or some other decoration.

Mattel's Shelly , Kelly, Chelsea & Tommy dolls clothes also work, but again there can be issues with these items due to Rabbi's hand and foot size, so items such as sleeveless shirts and leggings work well but a jacket or trousers may be a problem around the cuffs.

Bratz girls t shirts are also a good fit, so I'm guessing Moxie doll's also work...

Maitake
In the photo above Maitake is wearing a romper suit designed for Mattel's Tommy dolls and his favourite mask made by Hot Toys, both fit him perfectly.

Ae Sook Aiko & Akimoto

In the photo' above. Ae Sook' is wearing a two piece Baby Born Halloween Costume, which is actually a little large for her, but not too much that it looks silly!

I have yet to find shoes to fit Rabbi but this is mostly because I haven't  tried!

I love those little Leporine tootsies and don't want to cover them up!

Shoes sold for Hujoo baby will definitely not fit, so don't bother trying them...

Rabbi's feet are a good 0\5cm longer than Hujoo Baby's.

Sylvanian families shoes also are no good, Rabbi's feet are too wide and the shoes are too rigid to give enough to even try and get them on.

Of course this is by no means a comprehensive list, as with all dolls it's best to play around until you find something you like, but hopefully it's given you a few ideas..

Anyhoo,
I'm off now.

Take Care,

❂ Hujoo Suve - Mini Baby Doll ❂

It occurred to me while I was writing my Cojoo post that for some reason I've never gotten around to posting about my chocolate Suve doll after all I've had her for some time now, a couple of years in fact, and was positive that I had already shown her off on my blog... Ho hum

Perhaps it's because I have mentioned her in several other posts, still I guess I should hurry up and get on with it now I've started, so here goes...

Here's the size info' offered by Mimiwoo on the Ebay & Webshop listings:

There are three versions of  Hujoo Baby Dolls to choose from; Suve, Is & Ted.

Ted is the only boy version and is the same size in every way to the two female dolls, in fact the only difference with each of these dolls is their faceplates.

I think the reason I decided on Suve over the other two is because she had a look about her that reminded me of a baby blowing bubbles, especially in the photo below which was used to illustrate the listings

Also her eye holes are slightly rounder than the others which makes them look slightly larger, which I like in my dolls, although taking 10mm eyes they're not likely to look particularly big in any of their heads!

She arrived very quickly as all my orders from Mimiwoo seem to and I immediately gave her the little eyes I had waiting for her and began to give her a bit of a face up, I also named her Ae Sook Aiko.

Then I remembered I hadn't taken any photographs of her so so I laid the little cutie down and went to get my camera..

At the time of her arrival I only had the one Hujoo - Akimoto, and he was itching to meet his new "Little Sister" so I hurried her into some clothes, grabbed her Space Hopper and took her off to meet him.

The two of them got on much better than I hoped. In fact Akimoto absolutely dotes on her and is as protective of her as any good "Big Brother" should be!

❈ Hujoo Baby Cojoo Basic Doll ❈

If you've read my previous post about  Junkyspot Phoebe Anthro Mouse  you probably guessed that it was inevitable that sooner or later I would be adding a Cojoo to my Hujoo family.

I had been holding out for a chocolate skin version but these days they seem impossible to find in the skin tone I want.

In fact my Ebay hunt only produced one, in apricot skin tone on sale in Mimiwoo's.

It seemed to me that I'll never get my hands on the chocolate version and more than likely this apricot skinned one is the only option I'll have to own one.

The more I thought about it, the more I began to see the possibilities this little person represents.

In terms of size Cojoo dolls are 14cm tall. so are slightly larger than Hujoo Baby Dolls.

Their heads are much larger too:15cms ( 6 inches) to Hujoo Baby's 11.5cm (4.53 inches), which is no doubt to accommodate their huge eyes, which are 16mm.

Bodywise they are very similar in terms of aesthetics. They have the look of a very young child but given the size of them in comparison to a Hujoo Baby doll, they are really more the "toddler" version of the Hujoo Family.

As I'm beginning to think I should write a comparison post once he arrives, I'm going to stop with the size differences and just go ahead and list the rest of Cojoo's dimensions, so here goes:

Girth of neck : 4.2cm
Girth of Chest : 7.2cm
Width of shoulders : 2.5cm
Girth of hips : 8cm
Foot size : 1.9cm

I had the idea that as the rest of my human Hujoos are chocolate skin, this little one is really going to stand out amongst them, so to my mind he should stand out not because of his colour but because he is striking looking. The idea came to me that I could always make him albino.

When I was in college I had a friend who is albino and she had skin of a very similar hue to this apricot tone, she also had very long corkscrew permed hair which was so fair as to be almost white, I found it so beautiful and always wanted to find a way to reproduce it, now perhaps I can.

My Son also had an albino friend when he was small, he is the Grandson of my parent's friend and they spent many a happy Summer day playing cricket in his Grandparents farmland. I think with both of them having to be so careful when out in the sun they had a mutual understanding in a way the other children around here had.

I've bought some beautiful white Wensleydale wool which I'm planning to make his or maybe her wig from, it has blonde bits in it too which should greatly help with the "realism"...

I also already have his / her name which is happily unisex; 겨울 일 ( gyeoul il ) or  Winter Sun which I think will suit regardless of the sex of this little personage and is especially apt right now given the state of the weather!

I guess I'll have to keep you posted!

*ºoº* JunkySpot Phoebe - Anthro Mouse BJD *ºoº*

It's no secret that I love Hujoo dolls, I already have six of these lovable dolls; Wings, Original Female, Suave, Freya, Nano Rabbit & Albu (designed by Mimi Collection) but I still can't help wanting more!

I'm always on the look out for a Cojoo in chocolate, seems as rare as hen's teeth in that skin tone ... Anyone know if ABS Plastic takes dye easily?

Please let me know if you do, although knowing my luck, I'd dye a Cojoo and then the market will get flooded with 100s of chocolate skin versions!

Anyhoo, onto "Phoebe" ... It was on one of my recent hunts that I discovered this cute little Anthro who of course looked like she'd make a great addition to my ever expanding Hujoo Family, so of course I just had to have her!

She stands at 23cm, comes in either white or grey skin tone and "open eye" model only.

Here's a link to the Junky Spot listing for the white skin version on Ebay: PHOEBE Mouse Anthro BJD

Body wise she's identical to a standard female body, also used for Freya - minus the addition of a tail of course!

Like Freya & Freyr she was designed by Emory Sung of The Junky Spot. Additional information on Junky Spot listings states: "Production Design by Sunghyun Yoon of Hujoo and Emory Sung of The Junky Spot. Production and Manufacturing by Hujoo Korea."

Like other Hujoos she is cast in: "ABS vinyl/plastic, and strung like a traditional ball jointed doll."

As she has the same body as Freya and Female Hujoo dolls, Phoebe's body features the same 14 points of articulation with ball joints at the shoulders and hips.

The listings give the following measurements for Pheobe, which I can't say without checking on my previous posts if these are the same dimensions as the other Hujoo dolls I've mentioned but from memory, they are pretty close:

"Girth of neck : 4cm
Girth of Chest : 10.5cm
width of shoulders : 4 cm
Girth of Waist : 8cm
Girth of hips : 11cm"

Like other Hujoos her eyes and stringing is accessible by removing the plate on the back of her head.

"Phoebe" takes a size 14mm eyes, which the doll does not come with.

It's also worth noting that like Freya, Freyr & Nano Rabbit, she is not designed to wear a wig, due to her huge ears... However, if you're any good at making your own wigs, or handy with a pair of scissors you could either make or adapt a size 6.5 wig to fit her.

Here's my little girl (Hujoo number 7!!) having a cuddle with Mudwamp, while they both wait for face-ups.

25th June 2014 - Birthday with The Hujoos, Makie & Tangkou Custom - Bliss!

Makie & Hujoo photoshoot - Langland Bay, Swansea.

Pendle and Akimoto relaxing in the sun.

Asami, Kasa & maitake soaking up some rays.

Asami, Kasa & Maitake make a new friend while sunbathing on the beach!

I took this photo' to stealthily include the group of girls who had obviously never seen a Doll Collector at play before, I gave them a little show with my Zombie girl before arranging my Makie & Hujoos for their photo shoots... They must have enjoyed it as they seemed fascinated by what I was doing & appeared to be texting or uploading photographs of the "strange middle-aged woman playing with dolls in Langland Bay"!

So if you see any memes or instagram pic's ... "That's me that is"!

Sadly we didn't get much time to play, so not many beach shots happened that day before we had to pack up and head off to Caswell Bay, which provided us with another opportunity to take some photo's - this time it was my Tangkou Custom's turn to get in on the action...

Zombie Girl's Photoshoot - Bishop's Wood Nature Reserve, Caswell Bay, Swansea.

During our photo' session/ dog walk in the woods found her new name and will now be known by the moniker "Creeping Stink Flesh" - I think it suits her very well!

I managed to snap these two photo's before my Son stole not only my camera but "Stink Flesh" too and wandered off into the woods to take the following photographs - that's my boy...

For some reason this photo puts me in mind of Lucio Fulci's Zombi 2 aka Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Disclaimer:  I have been told to make it clear that my Son is not into dolls or playing with them... I'm also not allowed to mention his own doll collection and as I have definitely not done so there's no chance of him telling me of when he reads this!

⇝ Junky Spot's Nano Rabi Anthropomorphic Rabbit doll ⇜

Another new acquisition; this time it's a mini or "Nano" as Junkyspot like to call it anthropomorphic Rabbit doll, made by Hujoo.

I've only been able to find these dolls in the Junky Spot's Website and Ebay pages, so although they don't state that these dolls are Junkyspot designed (like their Freyr and Freya dolls) they do appear to be exclusive to them.

They are made of ABS Plastic and come in a choice of three colours: White, Light Grey and Pink - I chose the Pink version for my little rabbit or "Matsutake" as he's now known; as my Freya "Asami" is grey and I plan to get her a little white baby one day soon!

Nano Rabi has 14 points of articulation and ball joints like a "human style" Hujoo, the feet and hands - should that be paws? are all shaped an padded more like an animals, this means they are slightly wider than other Hujoos dolls and therefore, like Freya, Freyr and Albu Hujoo dolls they may not be able to fit into clothing and shoes that have not been specially made or altered with this in mind.

The dolls are strung with ball joints, their proportions and body shape is very similar to the "baby Hujoo" doll range, apart from, of course their clawed and padded paws.

                                                       Body Size Info:

Height:  12cm - 4.8 inches.
Eye Size:  12mm.
Neck Girth:  4.2cm.
Chest Girth:  7.2cm.
Shoulder Width:  2.5cm.
Hip Girth:  8cm.

While none of the listings contain information on head size for wigs, I believe Nano Rabi to have the same size head as Hujoo Suave, size 4/5 inch, but it would be very difficult as holes would need to be cut to accommodate the ears, which are spaced very close together in the centre of the head, unlike Freyr, Freya & Albu's ears which are spaced wider apart and more to the sides so would not require such a large or two hole/s which could easily rip and be very noticeable.

Another point I feel is worth noting, is that while the doll takes 12mm eyes, this does not take into account the size of he eye sockets.

By this I mean a standard 12mm doll eye will fill the entire eye socket with the iris colour, no white will be shown around the edges.

If however, you'd like your little "Rabi" to have whites in his/her eyes, I suggest you chose an eye that has an iris size of less than 7mm, that way you would have the white showing around the iris as well.

A 12mm eye with a 7mm iris will just completely fill the eye socket from behind, and display only the iris portion of the eye when the socket is viewed via the face, unlike the dolls shown in the images below.

This is something I didn't consider when I bought my Nano Rabi as Junky Spot did not have eyes available in their Ebay store at the time and I'd already chosen a cute little pair of blue glass snake eyes for him, which although they completely fill his eye socket with just the blue iris look awesome!

However, I'm aware others may wish their Rabis to look more like the "Face up" images supplied by Junky spot, as shown below, so I thought I should mention it to avoid disappointment etc.

Junky Spot do not offer a "Face Up" option on either their Ebay shop or Website listings, but they have included the following pictures in their listings, to give you an idea of what these little cuties would look like with custom faces... for some reason, they have only provided pictures of the white and grey variations and not the pink :(

Junky Spot have listed the dolls on Ebay for either "Buy it now" or if you prefer, you can try your luck at the auctions for a few dollars off; here's a link to their Ebay Nano listings Page: Junky Spot Ebay Nano Listings

If Ebay's not your thing, you can buy the dolls direct from Junkyspot by clicking on the following link:  Junky Spot Nano Hujoo Listings

Enjoy!
