☆╮"Wishful Thinking"╭☆

This was my Dad's first attempt at Photoshop in 2010, I think he must have been trying to live out his childhood fantasies through photo editing techniques!

I was so impressed when I saw this photograph ... I can't get my head around all those gadgets Photoshop has and I end up getting really frustrated when I try and use it, I've been promising myself I will master it one day tho'!

Since nailing it on his first attempt my Dad went on to pass a diploma in design technology (Photoshop based), at the same time and since graduating he was teaching Photoshop for 20 or so pensioners (for Age Concern) part time...

    Not too shabby my daddy!!

Sadly though he had to give it up as Age Concern couldn't supply the funding needed to pay for the overheads to keep the course running.

The pensioners loved it so much and their monthly photography field trips and subsequent Exhibitions that they pleaded with him to keep the course running, even attempting to fund it themselves after a month it became obvious that it just wouldn't be possible and without coming under the banner of "Age Concern" they were unable to raise funds through grants etc.

It seems fun things that older people really enjoy, that keep them fit, socialising and give them something to look forward to are not cost effective for Old Age Charities and our local Council and it just had to close.

I really proud of my Dad, can you tell?!

    Hugs,

McDonald's Flashback App'

Facebook have a cool app, or at least they did a while back, it's quite an easy way to age photo's if you don't have access or know how to use Photoshop and are unsure which online photo editor to go for..

While you're hanging out on facebook you could give this app' a go:

Photo's edited - 14 November 2011 via McDonald’s Flashback App

1916/1955

You just have to choose which time period you'd like to age your photo's to, upload or chose a photo from your Albums and press the start button, and you end up with images like these...

Above 2 photo's were aged to resemble photographs (left to right) from 1916 and 1955 respectively and the ones below were aged to look like 1899 and 1900 photographs (again left to right), I have to say I'm a massive fan of this kind of app' but sadly when I discovered this one, I didn't really have time enough to explore it thoroughly, perhaps another time I will go back and try again..

1899/1900

Ah well sorry to say, I've just double checked on Facebook and nope for some reason this app' is now unavailable :(

Oh and I discovered something else recently...not as cool as that Jigsaw but still cool ...Check this out!!

http://www.pictosaic.com/

A Cool ass site where you can upload your own pic's and turn them into multi imaged mosaic posters etc...pretty cool huh?

The site is limited to only a few actions that you can perform and there is only 13 types of images which you can click to have made into your image but it produces some cool ass effects... The thing to do is try a few different types of image, coloured backgrounds etc and then upload to make an original masterpiece...and better still no download required!! wooooot I tell ye!

ok here's a sample ...

Oh and another...showing a close up of what you get wooot!

How cool is that? And you can set it so it makes the multi images more visible from far away or your own uploaded image if you prefer....anyway enough of my rantings...go check it out!!!
