1983 Sindy Super Home

I was just looking through my Draft Posts and discovered these Assembly Plans for the 1983 Sindy Super home,

I have no idea what I was doing with them as I don't even have a Sindy Super Home, but I thought well I'll post them anyway as they may be of help to somebody...

1983 Pedigree Sindy's Super Home No 44430

As not many people are fortunate enough to get their hands on a Sindy House still in it's box, it often leads to confusion as to which house you own, so to clarify and let you know if these plans will be of use to you, here's a little information on this house...

In 1981 Pedigree released the Sindy's Home, a three floored Town House with a rooftop garden. The house had a lift to access all floors and a separate spiral staircase with which to access the roof garden from the centre of the floor below.

For some this spiral staircase proved to be problematic and so in 1983, following on from the success of their Sindy's House, Pedigree released their "new improved" Sindy House which they called the Sindy's Super Home.

This new Sindy House still had the lift for Sindy to reach the upper floors of her home but no longer had a spiral staircase, instead it now had a lift which reached every floor including the rooftop garden.

This gave a little extra floorspace in both the bedroom and garden's floors as there was no longer a hole for the staircase or an area of floor taken up by the staircase.

When assembled the Sindy's Super Home was over four feet high, two foot wide and had the option to extend it even further by adding additional floors and a stables to the side.

It was also much more sturdy as the floors were replaced with plastic ones, and much more versatile as you could put it together in a variety of ways, depending on how much room you have and your own personal taste.

If you click on the pictures, it'll enlarge them so you can save and print them.

Enjoy,

Bargain Dollshouse ...

I Saw this outside the local bookshop, in Glanamman when I went to Ammanford (while doing the Vet run and shopping)on November 2010, it had a sign stating it was £25 on it....

As I'd gotten a lift with Mum who was going to the vet's I didn't think I had a chance to call in before the store closed on my way home...

So I had a brainwave I went to the local newspaper office & got the number, spoke to one of the owner's who told me she was reducing it to £20 as it was the last one and they wanted it sold quick...

She said they'd wait in the shop for me to call in on my way home, providing I got there by 6pm.

They told me the shop would look closed up for the night, so I should just push the door open on my way home...long story short we lost mum in Ammanford, who told me to ring her ... after leaving her mobile at home and then she went off with the car (and our chinchilla) to a store that I said I wasn't going near so we had to walk miles to find her!

Anyhoo, Aaron tracked her down, and we got some groceries...I loaded up the car thinking "oh sh*t how's that dolls house gonna fit in around all this!"

Did I mention we also had a cat, chinchilla and a dog with us, so room inside the car was very scarce...and Mum's car's a tiny little fiesta...but anyway, by the time we'd got everything, ourselves and the dog walked and in... we ending up leaving Ammanford at 6pm :(

And it's a good 10 min drive if you're lucky ... which thankfully, I was as the kindly old couple knew I may be a little late and waited for me to turn up, they even helped Aaron get it in the boot!

Anyway it's 3.9 ft wide, 3 ft high and has a depth of just under 1 ft... it came with 2 staircases, and a load of pre-pressed pieces, some long strips of skirting & coving and a box containing the 2 chimney pots, magnets, screws, clips etc...

Now all we need is the time to do it...seeing as we are awaiting the arrival of our other dolls house kit (gonna be spooky guys!) to arrive from China!!

It's absolutely huge! The facade is going to look great once we get going on it, I just wish I had plenty of time  (weeks) to make a start. I'm still not 100% sure if we are going for a Georgian house with era appropriate furnishings or a spookier type deal, I had an idea that I could do each floor a different era or turn them into maisonette that's been converted into flats and furnish them all differently, best not to make a start until I'm sure, I'd hate to get it almost finished, spend loads of time and money on furnishing it, then decide I'd have been much happier if I'd decorated it differently inside!

Sneak preview of centre floor areas, obviously this is going to e the hallway and landing areas, but will it lead up to an attic floor? Hmm the jury's still out on that one too! I do love the idea of a dusty dolly-attic though with loads of forgotten treasures spilling out of tea crates, I may have to do that.

The pile of stuff inside are facing, coving and staircases, I'll show you a close up in a few minutes...

Unfortunately the roof is stuck on tight, at present anyway, but I may take the front off and attach magnets, so I can have my attic without loosing valuable floor space from the lower floors. I could even turn it into an extra bedroom, if it was a real Georgian House this area would be Servant's quarters...

Apart from the staircases and coving, it also can with a small box of bits (two chimneys in there too) and facings for windows and doors, and some other things I am unsure of but I'm hoping to work it out as I go along!

There's the 2 chimneys, hinges for the front of the house and several other connectors...

                                                      Here's those staircases again!

There's door frames, window frames, skirting boards, and Quion stones for the outside facade all still sealed inside their packages. I've still not worked out what the rest of them are for yet!

*********************************************************************************
Spooky Dolls House Project ... also still a work in progress!

Btw, the "spooky house arrived, some time ago now, and I started work on that one. I've decorated it inside and out, but as I haven't been able to work out the scale of it... it's smaller than 1:24 but less than 1;48, so everything will have to be handmade to go in there...but I'm not going to let you in on what it's theme is yet...you'll have to wait for an update on that one...and this one too!

Birthday Present from My Dad! - 15th June 2009

wooot!

My new Blythe House measures 26 inches wide ... 25 inches high....13 inches deep!

It has the four main rooms, a cool stairway and landing, working front and room doors, with handles....and enough attic space for all 6 Blythe Petites to have a bed each up there!

Pebble dashed sides, Slate roof & Brickwork patterned front, two cute chimney stacks, Dormer windows, a wooden staircase & pastel painted rooms with mini skirting board around!

front view

Lol told my Dad I'm gonna be spending so much time making this house great that my own house will be going to rack and ruin!

He laughed at me cos I want to get some window boxes and was saying about how at Christmas time they can have little fairy lights up around the place!

Told mum she has to hurry up and fix the tension on my sewing machine as I got little curtains and soft furnishing to make!

Oh and she told me of a place in Swansea where they sell everything for dolls houses and said we can have a day out there soon so I can get some little bits and pieces to decorate etc!

open to show attic space and rooms

when I got it home I had to remove most of the stuff on my dressing table to site it...then I had to get everything out the boxes to see what would fit the scale ... I have discovered I am going to need to buy quite a bit to furnish the rooms oh dear how awful for poor Herbie I hear you cry!

Cool thing is the Triang can now be a 70's pad with 60's / 70's dolls in residence and all to scale (kinda) little kiddie may be a tad short! but the rubber doll from my childhood and soda pop girl fit just right...

Oh and the little Asian doll I got the other day is the perfect size for this Blythe Palace too!

hmmm... wonder what's Japanese for palace? I'm gonna find out and make a little name plaque for this house seeing as it where all the Asian babes are going to be living!!

I'm going to have a great time photographing both my houses when I'm all done decorating room filling making small things etc!!!

it is perfect...It was made just for me!

cute hallway

My Dad's friend has a book of plans etc (he makes houses for a hobby!) and my Dad went around his place and saw the ones they have in their living room and chose what he thought I would want and somehow the one he chose and size was just right for the small people I was planning to house there!

He was saying about how they have one with electricity and lights he was pretty amazed by them it seems until I spoilt it by saying that's what this one is going to have and a little standard lamp in the corner so lol he just acted like my Dad and laughed at me then!

But he's loving the fact I just think he's the coolest Dad in the World!!

Oh dear that reminds me father's day soon lol wonder if that's why he did it?

Typical Susie...spots a new house and straight away goes knocking to see if she can sell some cookies
I'm going to have to make her change out of that Guides costume she hasn't stopped selling cookies to everyone since she's been in it!       * Silly sod forgot to bring the cookies!!*

Visitors already, they are supposed to bring you around a casserole, not sell you cookies, lol try telling Susie that ...she really is becoming a nuisance since Retro Lil' made her that meal gone to her head I think!
Lol I know I'm blessed to have such great understanding parents!

And I'm thrilled to bits with this house one like this was well out of my price range but I couldn't help looking at them and wishing very hard!

Just wish i had a little girl now so I could have someone to pass it onto but you never know Aaron may have one one day (in quite a few years fingers crossed) although my guy does have plans for me on that score!

I Guess time will tell!

☮ 70's Decor - Mini Makes!! ☮

(26th July 2009)

Spent a couple of hours making this today!!

It's Called "Flutter By"... I made it to go in the Triang house's Living Room along with another one I'm in the middle of making... so it's gonna be quite a large couple of paintings on one wall to go with that Geometric wallpaper I've got plans to use in the living room!

It's made in exactly the same way I make my own canvases ... only in this case I used matchsticks instead of 2 by 2 for Baton & a cardboard front (instead of plyboard or just stretched canvas) which I covered in Linen and stretched over the "board"..

I copied part of a cover from my 1960's Poetry Book ( " It's World That Makes The Love Go Round" ) for the butterfly image ....

Primed it with Gesso & painted it in Acrylic Paint with a tiny brush...then varnished the front & sides!

The 2nd one will have another image from that book cover (most likely a heart) but the colours will be swapped...

black and red for heart & all other colours used on butterfly for background image!

Should be pretty "Far Out" when done lol

70's Decor - Mini Make - Part 2

Number 2 in the set for the Triang House...

I've started thinking about making some more too!! lol only smaller next time, hopefully I'll find enough time to do so and soon wooot!

My Replacement Dolls House

Here's a little story about how I lost my 2 dolls houses...

I had a 1950s triang which my cousin gave me (it was her Granmas) and also a 1970s Geebee (Big) one too...full of what I now know to be Barton & Lundby furniture I even had some stuff from the 1950s too! ... I had a full family of Barton people...the parents and children lived in one house and the Granparents in the other, and they'd visit each other have tea etc...I used to spend all my pocket money on them ...

For the last 20 years I've been pretty gutted whenever I see anyone playing with a dollshouse on tv etc...esp' after looking on ebay and seeing how much everything I used to have all goes for :(

I really don't know how I lost them both, but It happened when we moved here when I was 12...

All I have left from those original dolls houses is 1 rubber baby doll who somehow managed to get herself seperated from the rest and stayed with me!

I packed My 2 houses and my furniture and families etc all up so carefully and watched the boxes being loaded into the van along with my sindy, Barbie and Princess Leia dolls and we followed the van to Wales...when they stopped we did...

I helped unpack it too all my things I'd labelled with my name so there should be no mistakes and the van was empty when it drove back to the hire company.

All I know is on that day I lost most of my childhood treasures and have been spending the last 20 years wishing I still had them and the last few years trying to replace them...kinda sad I know but when I hold something like the ones I had when I was small ... I get such a warm fuzzy feeling inside I can't explain!I

My childhood wasn't so cool, the only things that helped me get through it was the imaginary worlds I created with my dolls, they were my safety blanket keeping me sane...well almost!

But I look at it like this...everyone's got something they do to let off steam, some go to the pub every weekend, some buy everything they can so they can be just like thier fav' celeb, some buy shoes, some go on hoiliday several times a year...I don't do any of that I just try and get that warm fuzzy feeling back deep inside where it belongs!

The other day I won this Dolls House on Ebay it's a Triang ...similar but not quite the same as the one I lost...I got in a bit of a fight for it lol but in the end I won it for £12.00 + £10.00 Postage!

It's a doer-upper but it makes me feel good to see it sitting in my room!

I'll be putting up more pic's as and when I've collected more stuff and done the needed restorations, wallpapering etc...watch this space!

American Kitchen cookie Rement

It's all just so cute... I have to have it!

I mentioned this set in one of my previous posts, just look at those cookies, they'd look just as cute in a dolls hand or in a storage jar in the kitchen.

The baking tray is just as adorable and I love the kitschness of the American themed coffeepot and mug set too!

mmmm...Dinosaur jellys *grin*

This set is made by Rement and is called "Summer Days"

As you can see from the pic' that popcorn looks so real, and the dinosaur jelly sweets are just the cutest, they move about inside the packet (which I've left unopened).

The Books, although tied together with a "Book Strap" can be removed and have pages which turn. he long thing at the front is a "strip of stickers" which I'm sure my little ones will have fun putting all over the furniture soon!

The Basket Ball, well in fact all of the items are 1:16th scale so they are just the right size for Hujoo and 12 inch Blythe dolls to play with.

American kitchen bubblegum machine!

I love the Bubblegum and cereal dispensers. The bowling pins / ball set is cool too, I'm not so sure about the school chairs though as I can't help remembering just how uncomfortable those things are to use!

American Kitchen Rement

American Kitchen Rement  , originally uploaded by Demonic Angel 1975.

I have the Dinosaur Jelly Sweets, Popcorn & School Books one and the "Christmas" one, which comes with a set of 3 round boxes, which stack up forming a father Christmas type figure (for want of a better word) you can see them on the right at the back, it also has the turkey (I may be Vegan, but my dolls are not!) and an adorable tiny little American style School Bus toy, which my Hujoo Wings Boy loves!

I really want to get the cookies one which comes with that adorable oven mitten in the picture, near the turkey. I'd also love the cereal packet, orange juice, gumball machine and those adorable looking peppers!

More Cupcakes woot!!

Looking at these makes me drool!

Even tho' I have an egg allergy and can't eat the real things :( still I can happify myself watching my Blythes munching them!

I just love the detail on Rement products, they look so life-like and in many ways are very kitsch too!
