Robot Helmet

It seems that somehow, I have ended up back in the weird part of Ebay again, you know the part which thinks a "Human? Poo" is a similar item to a Vintage Mermaid Doll?

Anyway... this is the story of what happened to me this time!

I found this picture and not surprisingly given the nature of this item, it seems the seller has several of these "Robot Helmets" (ahem) they wish to get rid off...Although why anyone would look at these and think them a good item to make some money on, and therefore buy several in bulk is beyond me!

Now I ask you....

.
Does this woman have any idea how much of a dick she looks in this?

Is she aware she should have asked for more money to pose in it?

And how many people do you think are likely to buy this for Themselves or their kids after seeing what she looks like in it in the sale picture?

hmmmmmm.......

I've discovered there is a Child-Sized Version too! Rofl

Rubber Donald Duck - Update!

You may remember from a couple of posts ack, I'd got my hands on an adorable Vintage Donald Duck Bendy toy? Well...

I decided to restore him...first I had to find a rubber friendly way of fixing the cracks in the rubber and sealing it so it won't re-crack...

Then I gave him a paint job in Acrylic Paint ... I tried to make the colours as close to the original colours as I could mix *Grin*

I noticed a few things about him during this process...firstly he has made in Malaysia on his back.

Under his tail you can just make out the copyright symbol and the words Walt Disney Productions.

There is a date just above this but the numbers are so worn I can't read them  :(

Still never mind here he is ... my restored Donald....Wooohoooo!

The pic's are a bit hazy tho' as they were taken on my crappy little mobile phone!

But I think you may be able to guess, I'm very pleased with the result and have decided to show him off in my Dolly Collector Group as well as for my Flickr Friends!

OMFG.... Ebay, YOU WHAT????

(Originally uploaded by Demonic Angel 1975 (Me!!) on flickr.com)

Here's a strange little story....

I was watching some vintage toys and as I'd missed the auctions I clicked on see more items like this in My Ebay and erm....

Well this came up under the heading:

50 items found similar to 'Vintage Playskool 1991 My Pretty Mermaid Doll ... !!!

The seller in China has listed it as Night Soil Dejecta Young Children Playskool Soft Toy??

I think I'm missing something here...Night Soil Dejecta that DOES mean s**t right?

After all it looks like poo...        And even weirder it doesn't look like animal poo...

                                            Omg I think it's Human!!

But if it is poo and Human poo at that... why oh why is it in with the baby and toddlers toys?

Is it customary in China to let your children play with Human-Poo shaped toys?

Oh dear god... Please tell me it's not a teething toy ...*pukes*

Anyone feel like explaining this to me?

 I'm totally creeped out now!

Tattoo Design for Ryan!

A few Months ago I got talking to a guy online and he asked me to design a tattoo for him...here's the before and after pics!

                                                                   My Sketch...

The finished "Ink" sadly, I wasn't able to get a larger picture from him of the finished product, still never mind.

Betty - Down Syndrome Doll

Well here's a doll that's causing one hell of a lot of controversy within the Downs Community....Many Parents are up in arms about this doll, which was apparently designed by a Pediatrician and distributed by Helga's European Specialty Toys is for children facing medical treatments and Down Syndrome.

This is a Down’s syndrome doll which has been designed with the characteristics of children born with the condition.

It’s one of an increasingly popular — but hugely controversial — range of dolls with different disabilities produced to give youngsters with health problems a toy with which they can identify.

The manufacturers claim such dolls, which are finding a growing market in Britain, help ‘normalise’ conditions like Down’s syndrome so young sufferers don’t feel so different from their friends. They even say such dolls may help make disabled people more accepted by society.

Children undergoing cancer treatment can get ‘chemo’ dolls which are bald and come complete with headscarves.
Others are available with hearing aids, glasses, guide dogs, wheelchairs, crutches and leg braces.

Many parents of disabled children have welcomed the dolls as a realistic alternative to the physical perfection of the Baby Annabells already on the market.

Others, however, dismiss them as a sick joke. In fact, their detractors believe they only emphasise a disabled child’s differences to their able-bodied friends.

The Jury's still out..

purple_ebren says: Well, I'd be in all for giving such dolls to 'able' children. I think they are a brilliant idea personally . . .

Demonic Angel 1975 says: Yes I agree...for able bodied kids it would be a great idea but quite a few parents of downs children are upset because they say the face moulds on these dolls are sterotypical and they don't see their child as looking like this...they also say thier child doesn't see themselves this way so I don't know I'm kinda confused by it!

Aidmenot says: A late cousin of mine had Down's Syndrome, and (I did not like her saying this, I assure you!) she always said that I was her favourite cousin. Her middle name was Joy - and that's what she brought into the world to all who knew her.

Demonic Angel 1975 says:  Awww aidmenot that's so sweet...my cousin's little boy had down's too...I never got to met him tho' it was before my time... but I on my travels I have found people with down's syndrome to be so happy and much fun to be around ... it's a shame the same can't be said for most "able bodied" people! *sigh*

Donald Duck

My Latest Toy...wooot!, originally uploaded by Demonic Angel 1975.

My Latest Toy...wooot!

He needs a bit of work done on him as his paintwork has chipped and cracked in quite a few places, still I'm more than happy to do that, he's a great addiction to my collection as is, but when he's restored he'll be awesome!

He's a rubber Donald Duck from the 60's or 70's.... If anyone one has any info on him I'd be grateful!

1967 kamar Devil Knee Hugger

Just got this little man...should be arriving from the U.S real soon... Wooot!

The Statue of Liberty Gets A clean 1930's

Not sure if this is real...found it on youtube last night...and thought it was wacky enough to post here!

I have to say though I admire the bravery of the "cleaners" in those days you'd most likely have nothing more than a series of ropes tied around you, and if you were very lucky a big net below!

It makes me want to get out my Harold Lloyd dvds now!

Pre-Christmas Waste - Storage Container #2

Wow...

this is a pretty crazy thing I found on Flickr...

I think everyone should look at this set of pictures and read the blurb that goes with it...

It's so sad to see so many unwanted and unloved toys :(

And just think of the cost of all those gifts that have been saved from the landfill...

Not to mention how much waste and the cost of processing it must take to destroy them.

:(
