=^.^= Korean Fallindoll - "Nana" Big Eyed Soft Toy =^.^=

At the same time as I bought my Albu, I couldn't resist the adorable faces of the Fallindoll range on the Mimi Collection Website, I knew it was impossible to even try to do so and I found myself buying one at the same time, she also arrived yesterday morning.

The poor little girl arrived sealed upside down in a bag with her face removed; still a couple of seconds later and she was adorable as I hoped she'd be in the flesh; or should that be fur?

Anyhoo, here's some more  sale pic's from Mimi Collection, so you can see for yourself what a seriously adorable little creature she is...

"Nana" and the other two Fallindoll pets that Mimi Collection sell all stand at 21.5cm, have changeable 16mm glass eyes (they come with a set of black ones) and have a removable ABS plastic face, which comes with face up.

Thier bodies are more like an old fashioned teddy bear in that they have discs at the shoulders and hips to enable arm and leg movement, the resulting poses are also "teddy bear" like.

The other variations sold by Mimi Collection are: "Dodo" - a dog version with black fur and "Toto" - a white rabbit.

Dodo

Toto

Each of them have different coloured foot "pads", Nana's are brown, Dodo's are white and Toto has pink.  Out of the three, Toto is he only version that has movable ears.

Unfortunately for anyone wanting to purchase a "Dodo" version right now, he's sold out, as is "Nana" for the time being - sorry guys, I got the last one in stock, but I'm sure they will be restocked soon, especially as the listings are still up online, so don't give up hope just yet.

For anybody who would love to own "Toto" I've provided a link: Mimi Collection - Fallindoll: Toto

I would have done so myself as I fell in love with both her and "Nana", but as there were more "Toto"'s than "Nana"'s in stock, that swung it for me, knowing me and my dolly-problem, I'll probably wander back over there soon and buy a "Toto" too!

Anyhoo...
Enjoy,

⇝ Junky Spot's Nano Rabi Anthropomorphic Rabbit doll ⇜

Another new acquisition; this time it's a mini or "Nano" as Junkyspot like to call it anthropomorphic Rabbit doll, made by Hujoo.

I've only been able to find these dolls in the Junky Spot's Website and Ebay pages, so although they don't state that these dolls are Junkyspot designed (like their Freyr and Freya dolls) they do appear to be exclusive to them.

They are made of ABS Plastic and come in a choice of three colours: White, Light Grey and Pink - I chose the Pink version for my little rabbit or "Matsutake" as he's now known; as my Freya "Asami" is grey and I plan to get her a little white baby one day soon!

Nano Rabi has 14 points of articulation and ball joints like a "human style" Hujoo, the feet and hands - should that be paws? are all shaped an padded more like an animals, this means they are slightly wider than other Hujoos dolls and therefore, like Freya, Freyr and Albu Hujoo dolls they may not be able to fit into clothing and shoes that have not been specially made or altered with this in mind.

The dolls are strung with ball joints, their proportions and body shape is very similar to the "baby Hujoo" doll range, apart from, of course their clawed and padded paws.

                                                       Body Size Info:

Height:  12cm - 4.8 inches.
Eye Size:  12mm.
Neck Girth:  4.2cm.
Chest Girth:  7.2cm.
Shoulder Width:  2.5cm.
Hip Girth:  8cm.

While none of the listings contain information on head size for wigs, I believe Nano Rabi to have the same size head as Hujoo Suave, size 4/5 inch, but it would be very difficult as holes would need to be cut to accommodate the ears, which are spaced very close together in the centre of the head, unlike Freyr, Freya & Albu's ears which are spaced wider apart and more to the sides so would not require such a large or two hole/s which could easily rip and be very noticeable.

Another point I feel is worth noting, is that while the doll takes 12mm eyes, this does not take into account the size of he eye sockets.

By this I mean a standard 12mm doll eye will fill the entire eye socket with the iris colour, no white will be shown around the edges.

If however, you'd like your little "Rabi" to have whites in his/her eyes, I suggest you chose an eye that has an iris size of less than 7mm, that way you would have the white showing around the iris as well.

A 12mm eye with a 7mm iris will just completely fill the eye socket from behind, and display only the iris portion of the eye when the socket is viewed via the face, unlike the dolls shown in the images below.

This is something I didn't consider when I bought my Nano Rabi as Junky Spot did not have eyes available in their Ebay store at the time and I'd already chosen a cute little pair of blue glass snake eyes for him, which although they completely fill his eye socket with just the blue iris look awesome!

However, I'm aware others may wish their Rabis to look more like the "Face up" images supplied by Junky spot, as shown below, so I thought I should mention it to avoid disappointment etc.

Junky Spot do not offer a "Face Up" option on either their Ebay shop or Website listings, but they have included the following pictures in their listings, to give you an idea of what these little cuties would look like with custom faces... for some reason, they have only provided pictures of the white and grey variations and not the pink :(

Junky Spot have listed the dolls on Ebay for either "Buy it now" or if you prefer, you can try your luck at the auctions for a few dollars off; here's a link to their Ebay Nano listings Page: Junky Spot Ebay Nano Listings

If Ebay's not your thing, you can buy the dolls direct from Junkyspot by clicking on the following link:  Junky Spot Nano Hujoo Listings

Mimiwoo Collection Anthropomorphic "Albu" Doberman Pinscher doll

Once again I have been unable to:

1) stop myself from nosing around Mimiwoo's website & Ebay pages and
2) Buying more dolls!

Here's one of my latest "must-haves" from Mimiwoo webshop... she arrived this morning, and yes I'm in love yet again!

Albu is a custom made Hujoo doll, the designed by Mimi Collection and sold exclusively through the website and Ebay store, I fell for the brown skinned version, but as my son really likes the white skin; he has ideas for me to make him an Ooak it looks like I'll also be buying one in that tone soon too!

The doll is made of ABS Plastic and comes without a face up in a choice of either brown or white skin tone.

As this is a Hujoo doll, it is ball jointed and is strung throughout which aids movement and gives very good pose-ability for play or display.

Albu takes size 14mm eyes, when placed they do not display the whites of the eyes or very little so it's worth thinking about investing in some whiteless or large pupil eyes for your doll.

Like Freya Hujoo by Junkyspot, Mimi Collection's Albu also has an attachable tail which comes with 2 magnets for fixing them onto her.

Albu is quite heavy when compared to the weight of my other Hujoo dolls (Sauve baby, Wings, First Wave female, Nana Rabi & Freya) I think this is due to her body shape being a lot wider than all the other Hujoos I own, in fact everything about this doll is much chunkier, she's also the tallest of my Hujoos.

Albu's body is very similar in style to an "Azone body" but similar in others to other Hujoo dolls as well!

This certainly makes it far easier to find clothing for her and also gives her a more "natural" (human body-shape) with or with out clothing.

In terms of movement, the knee and elbow joints movement is closer to the Azone body's, whereas the shoulder, hip, wrist and ankle joints all move in the same way as any of my other Hujoo dolls.

                                                        Body Info:

Height:  28cm (1:6 Scale)
Head Size:  6 - 7 Inch (Wig Size)
Skin Colours available: Brown or WHite.
Eyes: 14mm
Shoulder Width: 6.8cm
Arm Length: 8cm.
Chest Width: 12cm.
Waist: 10.5cm.
Hips: 14cm.
Legs: 11cm.
Foot Size: 3.5cm x 1.8cm.

The photos I've used in this post were found on Mimi Collection Website as I have only had enough time to unpack my new baby and tell you about her so no photos as ye... not even her own name!

Anyhoo, I'm sure you're now itching to get your hands on one too now, so here's a link to Mimi Collection's Hujoo Albu page, so you can chose your colour: Mimi's Albu Page

The above photo was also found on Mimi's website, I had to include it here as she looks so adorable. If it belongs to you, please let me know so I can credit you, thanks x

‹(◕‿◕)› Another Makies doll post! ‹(◕‿◕)›

Well I've offically succomb to temptation, and after designing 20 or so of these fun little creatures, I've fallen in love so much so that I am currently awaiting the arrival of Pendle, my custom fairy folk little lady!

I'm lucky as every Christmas and Birthday my Mother's friend and her husband send Aaron and I a cash gift each, which for the last few years,  I have been spending my half of on dolls I couldn't otherwise afford to own - this is how I manage to get my Tweety Dal,  Tangkou France & China, Toffee doll Sakura,  Hujoo Freya,  2013 Mattel Catwoman (retro version),  1996 Barbie & Ken Star Trek Gift Set, Death Note Misa Icy Doll, Maudlynne Macabre, countless others and now My very own Makie Doll!!

Well it sure beats having to spend it on bills!

Anyhoo,  enough preamble, it's dolly action time (kind of)... this post is really just a look at the design of her, and my reasons behind certain aspects of the designing process; which I'll compare against the real thing at a later date.

I originally chose this outfit for her as her "Coming Home" outfit as I really liked the colour which I felt matched her hair perfectly and would give me a good "positive" to make more shirts, short and long jackets & trousers with, if I used the dimensions of the clothes as a pattern base; it's called "Alice in Wunderpants outfit" and is still available in the shop ( many of my original Makies I designed during the Alpha phase; are wearing outfits and wigs that are no longer available) so I knew if I changed my mind I could always purchase it at a later date.

Here's how it looks in the flesh so to speak, with blurb from Makie Shop listing...

Alice in Wunderpants outfit

Adventure time! Snap your braces and join us as we make Makie mischief. Designed for female bodied Makies.

This is the outfit I finally decided on, I felt it gave me more making possibilities, either for more lab coats, or short jackets, long jackets, even dresses and shirts, also during the Alpha phase I fell in love with a "bloodied version of this lab coat, which had little bloody hand prints and blood splatters all over - Very Walking Dead and very me! however, it is no longer available in the shop, so this one could also serve as a pattern to make another more gruesome version, the skirt could be made into a longer version, A-line version etc and the fitted t-shirt, I felt was much more apt as she would after all be 3D! It also gives further designing possibilities and the whole outfit comes with an adorable pair of pink scissors too; what's not to love?!

Makiebot Outfit

Makies have a special machine in their workshop called the Makiebot. The Makiebot prints shoes, goodies and tools in 3D for the Makies all the while singing a whir-whir song. Makies make magic on the Makiebot and wear the t-shirt to show it. Most suitable for female bodied Makies.

Pendle was the 18th Makie I deigned, I decided I wasn't even going o consider making one real until I had tweaked and tweaked until I made one I felt was absolutely perfect, Pendle was he result, closely followed by the 17th Makie I designed called Rainy Daze...

Rainy Daze

I would have made her real but the wig I chose was out of stock and the Makie Bots wouldn't allow me to buy her, as much as I loved her, I felt I should design a whole new makie instead of just changing her wig as I new I;d never be happy with her in a different wig, and so Pendle was born!

The thing with making a Makie is each time you go to do so, you start from scratch so to make two the same requires a lot of dial tweaking! Anyhoo,  I decided I would try and get this new one as close to Rainy Daze looks as possible seeing as I had already fallen in love with her, and I would also keep her skin in the original Makie white or as they refer to it "Ice Frosting" that way I could if I chose to dye her a cocoa shade so she'd be even more similar to my belove Rainy Daze.

In the end Pendle ended up with a slightly thinner nose than Rainy Daze but other than that she's pretty much identical. As the pink "Katy Wig" (*sigh*) was unavailable I decided on the "Manga Wig" which comes in a light aqua shade instead, although it looks more blue here; and would look great on either a white or dark skinned doll.

I also decided I'd keep the black iris eyes as I feel they add to the ethereal feel and are pretty hard to find elsewhere - the other colour choices were Green, Blue, Grey, light Amber & Brown.

If I change my mind I can always just buy the eyeball bundle which is available in the shop, so no big whoop!

Eyeball Bundle

Six pairs of all eye colours, which can be clipped in and out of your MAKIE. All the better to see you with.

For some reason I've found I prefer elfin ears on a Makie doll and the bigger the better - within reason of course, so the new doll just had to have a set of those too, and pierced as I have plans for them.

In order to check the size and proportions of the ears, I removed her wig - during making - and turned the image of her around to check just how much they stuck out.

N.B: The little line at the back of her head is for the doll's cranium to clip into.

Profile view, so I could check the arch of her nose, length of it and also the form of her chin and eyebrows, which will be moulded onto her face as part of the 3D printing process.

Slightly turned profile view just to double check that her facial features are exactly how I want them to look, after all once the plans are drawn up for the printer there is no going back on her design.

Slightly more to the centre profile view, double-double check!
Her ears look the perfect size, eyebrows nice and thin, grumpy mouth looks great and nose arch and length is exactly how I want it too...  Almost ready to buy and have printed now!

Now all that's left to do is replace her hair and take one last look at her before I buy!

And here she is, or will be little miss grumpfest Pendle - in case you're wondering, I was having a hell of a time trying to decide on a name for her and sadly you have to have once chosen before you are allowed to save your doll so I started looking for inspiration on the page I was on, when my eyes fell on the legend "Patent Pending" which at first made me think of The Wacky Races Cartoon, but I knew that just wouldn't do for this girl so I focussed the word "Pending" and that lead me to thinking about the Lancaster witch trials of 1612 and the so- called  "Pendle witches", so I decided I would call her "Pendle" in memory of Mother Demdike & Alice Nutter and all the other innocents who were so wrongly accused and lost their lives during those dark times.

N.B: Info on the Pendle Witch Trials can be found here: http://www.pendlewitches.co.uk/

Yay, won't be long now - the parts have not only gone to print, but come back too! So now all that's left to do is sand and assemble them, dress and package her and then she'll be on her way to join the rest of the dolly family!

Can't wait!
